2015 Club Championship

August 8-9

It was another exciting finish for this annual event...

Matt Maus and Dane Newville were tied after Round 2 at 150, meaning there would be a sudden-death playoff, starting with hole 18, then hole 1 if necessary - and it was! Both golfers made bogey on #18, so they continued to #1, where both hit the middle of the fairway on their tee shots. With the pin tucked to the right side of the green on #1, both golfers gave it their best. Dane's shot flew into the large cottonwood short-right of the green, bounced around a few times and dropped off the right side, leaving himself with a very difficult chip. Matt's 2nd shot flew into the same tree, but took advantage of the 'trees are 90% air' rule all golfers talk about, and landed it 15 feet from the hole. His two-putt par from there was enough to win the trophy.

Miles Geringer, in the A-Flight, improved dramatically from round 1 to round 2! After shooting 89 on the first day, he came back firing on all cylinders with a 75 for day 2, which helped him secure a 7-stroke victory over Jim 'Rookie' Harrits. Andy Dunn finished another stroke back at 172 for third place.

In the Ladies Division, Jordan Osowski has taken the Champion's spot for the third year in a row, with rounds of 80 and 82. Much to her delight, no playoff was necessary this year! Rita Cooney finished in 2nd place, 12 strokes back. Holly Rehberg finished in 3rd place, but had another noteworthy event.. a HOLE IN ONE! Hole #11 was the lucky recipient of Holly's golf ball, on what her playing partners said was, "just a perfect shot!"
